Complex Home Defense Situation

Hey guys, I have a somewhat complex situation and am looking for some information on how to best protect myself and my home. My ex lived with me at my current address for years before getting arrested for some really heinous crimes I had no knowledge of. He was living a secret double life and I discovered I had no idea who this person truly was. He has spent years in prison, but is scheduled to be released next year and I am trying to be proactive about my safety. He is a large individual (6'6" and 230lbs+) with extensive martial arts training, and I'm positive even with adrenaline and some previous self defense training, he could easily overpower me. He hasn't done anything physical that I could get a PPO for, but he is a literal sociopath and master manipulator who I am worried could try to continue to harass me or my family, or worse. The tricky part is, he lived with me at the house I am currently in. So he knows the layout, the exits, the weak points, etc. Unfortunately, moving to a different address is not a viable option due to finances, as much as I would like to. I am assuming he will be living at a relative's house when he is released, and they live about five blocks away from me. Great, right? The other caveat is that in the past I have struggled with suicide and though my partner owns a gun, it is kept locked up and I have no access to it. I'm not 100% opposed to taking a class and keeping the gun more accessible, but I do need to be cautious about that. I do own a large German Shepherd, but he was in her life for a bit when she was a puppy so there's a chance she would recognize him and not be a good deterrent. Besides the obvious, such as changing the locks, what are some ways I can make sure to stay safe and prepared? Cameras? Non-lethal weapons? Motion lights? Alarms? I'm honestly feeling overwhelmed and anxious about this, but I know I need to start getting prepared. I would rather be prepared for the worst and hope for the best than to give this POS any benefit of the doubt. Thank you for reading through this, I understand I am probably at a disadvantage here, but I'm hoping with some time to get things organized, I can feel at least a bit safer in my home when he's released and continue to heal.
