Hoping someone's solved this before. We do outsourced/contract manufacturing and our current process raises the PO with a service item to capture the subcontractor charge. The problem is this creates two headaches:

1. Incoming stock isn't recorded against the PO Because the line is a service item, there's no way to raise an Item Receipt against it — so the finished goods never get booked into inventory through the PO. We're having to handle it separately which is messy.

2. The PO doesn't show as supply on the MRP workbench MRP is completely ignoring these POs. Makes sense in hindsight since they're service lines, but it means our planning is blind to any outsourced manufacturing supply.
