We need a Tech Sales Union

My resume was absolutely golden, until 2022… since then I’ve had 4 different jobs, longest one being a year and a half, & most under a year.

The game is rigged. I sell enterprise cyber & the deals take 9 months… you work your ass off & then they complain about you not having closed enough, even though mathematically, you’re above pace on pipeline & late stage deals.

Only person at the company that is loyal to you is the hiring manager, but 4 months into the role, the hiring manager gets let go… as well as all of SDRs, TAMs, Channel, CSM, and VP. Now you have to source all your deals, ensure there’s no churn, lead partner engagement…

The company also changes their entire direction each quarter, so the deals you’ve worked are no longer aligned with what your management asks you to sell. It’s always some half backed idea that “leverages Agentic AI” in a niche they have no track record in, zero win stories, & intense competition from Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, etc.

Worst of all, they give you a ton of stock but it doesn’t start vesting until after you’ve been there for a year. They are literally financially motivated to let you go…

Does anyone actually understand how to win in this market? I’m lucky to keep getting an insane base salary, but the OTE is monopoly money because they’ll let you go right before you close.

Also, getting a new job every year ls exhausting & you have to pass like 8 rounds to get an offer. I hate nothing more than having to keep explaining why I’ve had such short stints, when the people interviewing you have just as many short stints as you do.

In closing, we need a freaking union! I’m willing to be a martyr and fall on my sword for this cause.
