Hey y’all! If anyone has any advice to offer I’d really appreciate it I’m coming to the end of my rope here. Here’s some background: Me and my fiancé rent a house in the middle of nowhere practically. We’ve always had issues with our water shutting off periodically and coming back on about 30 secs after shutting off. When we spoke to a family friend that’s also on a well system he said it might be because our water tank was too small for the house we live in (3 bed 2 bath). With it getting hotter we decided to fill a small above ground pool. It took all day to fill and we figured it would just raise our electric bill and that would be the end of it.
Well right after the pool, SC had a massive drought and our water completely went out. We decided it might literally be the well running dry so we decided to leave it alone and see if it would sort itself out after a good rain.
My fiancé thought it might be our pressure gauge so he replaced that and the electrical component(?) that powers the pump. We also turned the power off in the house since we were out of town anyway for a few days last week. Well it has rained for the past 3ish days which is great and we’re seeing improvement. Waters flowing just at a really low pressure and frequently cuts out.
Also our rent agreement states any repair that is equal to or less then $500 is our responsibility. So we’re handling it ourselves for as long as we can.
Should we continue to just leave it be? Or should we call a plumber out here
Thanks yall!!
