Best set up for solo experience?
Hi, first of all, thanks to everyone trying to help.
I played pixelmon on servers years ago, but now I’m looking for a singleplayer experience. I’m not interested in huge servers full of vote keys, paid kits, or any p2w systems.
What I want is a proper solo pokemon experience in pixelmon. Since I only played a few hours on servers before, I’m still not very familiar with how the mod actually works, so sorry if I ask for things that are impossible or already implemented.
One thing I’m wondering is whether pixelmon completely replaces normal Minecraft progression, which is what I would prefer. I don’t really want to kill the dragon or go to the nether to farm blaze rods, netherite, etc. I’d rather have a true pokemon experience instead.
How do maps and gyms work in Pixelmon? Do I need a custom map for that? Are there any extra mods you would recommend? Since I probably won’t use a modpack, I assume I should at least install a minimap mod, JEI, and maybe a few other essentials.
Also, assuming the world generation is good enough, or if I use a custom map, does the game have any kind of progression system? For example, starting in one area, beating a gym, then moving on to the next one, eventually defeating the elite four and win the league. And after all of that, is there any kind of endgame content, like catching legendaries or ultra beasts?
