gf rear ended an SUV with 4 elderly people inside. Totalled gf car and very little damage to SUV.....but all 4 taken to hospital. visiting SF from mid west. This happened 6 months ago. Since then NO communication from insurance co, attorneys. Today someone called saying you are being sued.

Assuming the worst, if her insurance only covers $250K & the excess is 1.5 million, what happens to her after liquidating her bank and assets to put towards the 4 elderly peoples' claim or their individual claims, or both? A lifetime garnishment of wages order?

She is freaking out and I have a feeling of dread coming over me.

At this point, what can we or she do to improve the situation?
