To add some context.
At work pulled my ute up at a park and heard a lot of yelling coming from the park.
It was a crack head yelling at a Dad and his 2 kids (aged about 3 & 5) as they tried to play in the playground. The Dad was doing his best to ignore him.
The crackhead yelled "Hey kids I'm going to come over there and kill your dad in front of you."
At this point I rang the police. They declared it a priority one call out as he'd threatened children and dispatched units straight away.
The crackhead started advancing on the Father, so I went to his assistance. The crackhead started abusing me so I abused him back to get the attention on me and away from the Father and his kids.
The Crackhead then pulled out a syringe and threatened me with it "I've got a hot shot for you." I backed off and he started yelling come here and fight me. At this point the police arrived (5-10 minutes after being called so pretty good.) and promptly arrested him.
When collecting my statement they told me he was currently on bail for similar offenses and was going to lock up for the night.
It turns out the Dad was on holiday from Singapore and had never encountered a crackhead before, which made me understand why he just tried to ignore him and stayed in the playground instead of leaving.
The kids were fine and didn't seem to understand what was happening around them.
Anyway do you think he'll get bail again??? And how long do you think he'll get for this??? 2-3 years hoping.
