Context:
Under the North Star is a book trilogy made in 1958-1961 by Finnish author Väinö Linna about the family history of liutenant Koskela, one of the main characters in his 1954 novel Unknown Soldiers. The story starts in 1884 when Jussi, farmhand of local vicarage starts to build a tenant farm for himself in a swamp owned by the vicarage. The trilogy's main character is probably Jussi's son and liutenant Koskela's father Akseli who was very hardline socialist in 1910s but moderated after taking part in Finnish civil war between socialists and conservatives.
The trilogy is 100% fictional. No actual historical people appear there (the likes of Svinhufvud, Mannerheim, Stalin, Hitler and Ståhlberg are mentioned).
