First time solo traveler in Cape Town, 11–22 May
Hello! I’m visiting Cape Town for the first time, for a week of holiday followed by 4 days of workshops. I’m from Singapore where it’s hot and humid year round, so this will also be my first real taste of winter cold.
I had Table Mountain hikes and outdoor rock climbing planned for the first few days, but just saw the Level 6 weather warning.
A few things I’d love local advice on:
How bad do these storms actually get for getting around? Is Uber still reliable, are roads passable?
Any indoor recommendations for the first couple of days if outdoor plans get washed out? I’m staying near the V&A Waterfront area.
General tips for a tropical climate person experiencing Cape Town winter for the first time?
Thanks in advance, and hope everyone’s holding out well against the weather!.
