blister from popping?

I've been practicing slap n' pop for a few days, there wasn't really a problem.. until today. i tried playing can't stop by rhcp, practiced it for basically the whole day and noticed my right index finger forming a hump. i didn't think much of it and continued playing.

it's now late at night and the hump turned into a small blister. I'm jst wondering if this is normal and if i should be concerned? it doesn't really hurt, jst a hassle to play with.

how do u play with double jointed fingers?

I'm a beginner in bass but i used to play acoustic guitar before i got into bass. it was never really a problem when i played the a.g because you don't need to press that hard. but with the bass since the string is a lot thicker and the frets are farther apart it's really hard to use my pinky finger. it's hard to explain but I'll try my best:

whenever i try and use my pinky, it's hard to distribute the force because of the way my pinky is crooked. since I can't physically make it straight it's also really hard to press it down accurately.

is this problem just a matter of time before i develop pinky strength? if anyone has a similar experience with me, please leave out any tips. any helpful advice would be appreciated.
