Frustration with players showing up every other week
We started a D&D group in December, and quite honestly were playing every Sunday for months. My household was even serving dinner and bringing snacks to entice the other players to show up. The past two months, two members from outside the household have decided to only show up every other week. Its been spotty for months but now its perfect every two weeks. We are tired of planning meals and saying "hey are you going to be here?" for them to say yes, then flake out the day of, 2 hours before, or the night before going "we will maybe make it". We have a discord set up for talking and confirming, last week, on mother's day, we made a big dinner. The player that dropped due to work even came, but they decided to message the one person not in the discord group, that they couldn't make it, and that they felt like the two that were in the discord group were pressuring them to show up. When it comes to getting them to show up I keep the one not in the discord group informed, in fact that player is the one who suggests some of the things I try to entice them with to show up. We have stopped buying snacks for them, the dinners have become less exciting, as we just don't know when they are going to show up. We are planning to talk to them this Sunday (hoping they show up) about it. But this is getting really frustrating as its nice to have people from outside the household but at the same time feeling like its almost not worth it
This was a bit of getting stuff off my chest/ a what do? thanks for reading
