Took the biggest slam of my life today, looking for advice

I was overpowered and it was gusty, bad combo, won't be doing that again.

I wasn't even trying to jump, just mowing the lawn, took 2 spills where I accidentally sent the kite to 12 went maybe 10 ft in the air, kinda fun, didn't think much of it but should have been a sign.

Was just cruising, feeling overpowered tried to turn up wind when a gust caught me and yanked me maybe 15 feet into the air, then a second gust immediately pulled me much higher. Felt like I was 40 ft in the air looking down but it must have been closer to 30 ft as I wasn't severely injured. But when I was looking down and falling I was honestly terrified, thought I'd hit the water and it would be lights out.

I'm bruised on half my body, no concussion or broken ribs, but mostly just anxious 5 hours later. I think it's going to be tough for me to get back out there for a while.

Any advice for getting back on the board? I'm going to get an impact vest and helmet, felt stupid not having those today. I think the adrenaline is wearing off and I just feel pretty shaken, I know I'm not the only one who has taken a big fall.
