Two Piece Dilemma 😔😔
Hi! This is my second time making a reddit post so have mercy on me (and hopefully this is the right place/flair for my problem, if not, I’d appreciate being directed to a more suitable subreddit, thank you!!)
I have my summer formal at the beginning of July, and I’ve wanted this very specific two piece corset and skirt for two years, but the website no longer sells it so I’ve scoured the internet for someone, ANYONE to be selling it. A few weeks ago, someone was selling the corset, so I took the chance and bought it. I have not managed to find the real skirt yet, but thanks to some rigorous reverse image searching, I found a website selling a dupe version of the skirt so I bought it. Unfortunately, the dupe skirt is SLIGHTLY yellower than the corset, and personally I feel as though it is very obvious when wearing the full set together.
Is there any way possibly i could dye/bleach the skirt to make it a few shades whiter? (I’m pretty sure the skirt is 100% polyester). I refuse to touch the corset as I’m worried I won’t find another if I mess it up, but the skirt I don’t mind buying again. A friend has suggested maybe using a very very tiny amount of purple dye to cancel out the yellow which sounds like it could work?
Overall, it would be great if I could get the skirt to be a closer colour to the corset because I worry that in flash photos and the sunlight the colour difference will be quite obvious and I’ll be aware of it the whole night. However, even if I can’t get the skirt whiter, I’ll still wear it and deal with the yellow shade 🤷♀️
TLDR: The skirt to my white two piece is slightly more yellow and it’s annoying me, how do I fix it?
