Religion in accomodation

Recently a friend had their wedding in a beautiful location, it really was stunning.

The issue was that the owners were very religious.

They had 6 ft crosses in areas of the venue. Their rooms are all named after biblical events or people. They had scriptures written on walls.

I know that it shouldn't have been, but it was somewhat off putting, im not an athiest, but I dont particularly want to hear how I need to be saved through baptism, and prayer..and the bloodn of jesus, not whilst I am a guest at my friends wedding.

Again, her venue was nothing short of amazing. Food was good.

But the religious displays and the preaching, for me, was too much. Had i have been the one paying for the place, id have been asking for a partial refund. A few guests mentioned to her that they found the preaching a little too much, some asked if the bride had actually asked for that to take place.. but she said her and her husband were blissfully unaware of all that side of things.

I guess most were ok with the crosses and bible verses all over the place, I guess it added character, they kiked it thats all that matters, but overall the experience of guests was somewhat different to anything else ive ever been to..with a large majority left feeling uncomfortable and slightly creeped out.

Pet sitting & litter prices

I responded to an advertisement seeking a sitter for a mother and her 8 puppies, 8 weeks old. The job started 24 hours later.

I went and met the family and had a very brief session with the mum and pups.

The family sent a text saying "are you happy with 100 a day"

I reluctantly said yes. Really not anticipating the absolute shit fight that awaited me. I assumed cash.

These 8 week old puppies and a mother who has no interest at all in even interacting with the litter, other than a brief feed twice a day.

Anyway, the family have since decided to pay me through their family business. I am "employed" ad a cleaner. My rate is $88. What they've done, is put through 12 hours × $88.The hours should be days, but it equates to the same shitty amount.

This wasn't discussed. It was their secretary that contacted me asking for my details. I assumed it was for the cleaning of their other home they also asked me to do.

So my issue is, its not 100 a day. Its taxed. Its a low ball offer to begin with. It has been a 24 hour 7 days a week job. They wake every few hours. It has cost me a fortune in petrol as I need to drive into town to buy food every second day. Ive had to buy my own water as its on tank. The bathroom was located outside almost 100m away from my room. Its a very rural property.

I didnt mention anything or complain over the past few weeks as I hadn't seen a payslip. Then, I thought the job had finally finished after 3.5 weeks.

Then I get asked if I can take them, at my own place, the day after the fanikybretuned home from holiday.

The family is back from holidays. Obviously just not keen on the job that is now 10 + week.old puppies.

I said I would take 2 but no more as my home is very small. Inalso have 2 teen kids. No backyard. .

Then they arrived with 4. Then asked to bring the rest. A total of 6. Then suddenly the mother was needing to come. Remember, the family is no longer on holidays.

I eventually said no, ill take 4 puppies. Then on Tuesday I meed to take the mum and the ither 2 pups.

Its only Saturday

The im told im not getting paid, for fri- Tuesday, they thought i would want to do it.

I asked for the reimbursement of money from last week's food, $111, and the b response was "am.i strapped for cash?"

Im being and have been ripped off big time.

Ive had to take all the sale photographs. Worm them.. hand 1 puppy to new owner..be there 24 hours a day. Its been a huge commitment that wasn't communicated to me when j agreed.

What set me off was yestetday the husband, Organised tra sport for a puppy interstate, a family friend, who's rate is 70 per hour. He will be getting $560 for a days driving with 1 puppy. Each puppy is for sale for almost 5k each.

Tonight when I asked to confirm the payment, the husband said he can't afford to pay me 100 a day.

Rant over!!!
