Religion in accomodation
Recently a friend had their wedding in a beautiful location, it really was stunning.
The issue was that the owners were very religious.
They had 6 ft crosses in areas of the venue. Their rooms are all named after biblical events or people. They had scriptures written on walls.
I know that it shouldn't have been, but it was somewhat off putting, im not an athiest, but I dont particularly want to hear how I need to be saved through baptism, and prayer..and the bloodn of jesus, not whilst I am a guest at my friends wedding.
Again, her venue was nothing short of amazing. Food was good.
But the religious displays and the preaching, for me, was too much. Had i have been the one paying for the place, id have been asking for a partial refund. A few guests mentioned to her that they found the preaching a little too much, some asked if the bride had actually asked for that to take place.. but she said her and her husband were blissfully unaware of all that side of things.
I guess most were ok with the crosses and bible verses all over the place, I guess it added character, they kiked it thats all that matters, but overall the experience of guests was somewhat different to anything else ive ever been to..with a large majority left feeling uncomfortable and slightly creeped out.
