If you use AI to generate a rough draft, but then fully rewrite every single word yourself, change the structure, and add your own ideas… is it still cheating?
Half of the people I talk to say it’s no different than using a tutor, a study guide, or brainstorming with a friend. The other half say the second AI touches the foundation of the assignment, the line has been crossed. Schools are doing a terrible job of defining this clearly, and Turnitin is out here flagging people who write completely from scratch anyway. Where do we actually draw the line?
