Question on purchasing Alltrack w sunroof Leak
Hey guys, thinking of purchasing a 2017 Alltrack SEL. Low miles and under $20k. But it has water in the trunk area and signs of leak drying on headliner.
The VW dealer is taking $2,500 off for the leak but doesn’t want to fix it.
Back pre-COVID we purchased one on Carvana that had the leak and returned it and I’ve sort of kicked myself for that because the prices have gone up and I still want one.
This one seems nice outside of the leak. A few dents and dings but that’s to be expected on a nearly 10 year vehicle I suppose.
So my question is will a different VW dealer fix this under a VW acknowledgement of the issue? The VIN doesn’t show an outstanding recall and there is no factory warranty outside of the short 3k /3 month warranty from the dealer on motor/drivetrain.
Has anyone paid out of pocket for the fix or done the fix themselves? Need to decide before EOD today - 5/15.
