I run a small analog horror project called File 0 — a fictional archive channel built around a character called The Collector, who catalogs anomalies that official records won't explain.

The premise of the universe: every case file points to a single entity that has made contact with humanity at different points in history, then disappeared. The Collector doesn't know what it is. Neither does the audience.

The case I keep coming back to is ARC-712-CE — a spelunker named Mike who entered a sealed Maya underground chamber in the Yucatán and couldn't find the exit. Standard lost-in-a-cave situation, except:

  • He counted 340 steps back to the entrance. The entrance wasn't there.
  • The chamber has five identical deity statues. In his footage, one of them is facing a different direction than the others. He never mentions it on camera.
  • He recorded 47 hours of footage. The search team found the camera on Wednesday. He entered on Tuesday morning.
  • The stone hand on one of the statues was broken off. It kept coming back.

The Collector's final finding: the camera had no battery when they found it.

I tried to build it so the audience knows slightly more than the narrator, and The Collector knows more than both. The anomalies appear on screen before Mike notices them.

If anyone wants to watch the full case file: ARC-712-CE · The Loop of Kukulkan

Still early days. Genuinely curious what this community thinks of the archive format.
