Hi! I finished all of Isabel Cañas' novels recently, and loved her writing style and the romances! I'm looking for books that have a strong romantic subplot like hers. Not pure historical romance (e.g. Bridgerton), but books where another conflict provides the main plot (be it historical, gothic, horror, western, anything really) and where a romance is a well-developed undercurrent to that plot.

Other books I enjoyed recently are The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo, and everything by Alix E. Harrow and Ann Liang. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
