Unsure on transferring universities (throwaway account)
Hello Reddit, thank you for taking the time to read this :) !
I'm having mixed feelings and I'd like an opinion from an external source that isn't family.
I have completed my first year at Coventry Univeristy in commerical law however it's incredibly bad, I feel overlooked in my course, a lot of the people on the course don't care about the degree and I feel incredibly isolated. I struggle with autism and chronic illness so being off from university and other factors have resulted in me making zero friends in University even after joining societies and trying to speak to people in my classes.
I am currently thinking of trying to transfer to University of Warwick however my family has other ideas as I wouldn't be allowed to study law at Warwick because of my first year at Coventry (at least that's what they have told me) so I was thinking of moving onto a Business management course with marketing however my dad is not very happy with this and wants me to REALLY think about staying on at Coventry and just coping with it.
My mental health is at an all time low at Coventry If I'm completely honest, social isolation means I only speak to my family, work collegues and one friend who doesn't attend Univeristy and lives 2hrs away. All I'm looking for is to start my degree fresh all over again.
I feel slightly conned by my sixth form as they were pushing people who had lower grades than me to apply to Universities like Warwick and never bothered checking in on my decisions or saying I could do better. My grades are below for context
Law (AQA) - B
Health and social care Diploma (Cambridge Technical) - D*D
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) (AQA) - B
My main question is, Do I transfer to warwick even if it means completing my degree in 2030 instead of 2028...? I don't believe I will get a job in Law as the way Coventry is assessing is very strange and I'm barely passing the first year.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for any possible help.
