"detective sargeant" (spoilers for around season 3)

firstly, im sorry if a post like this was already posted, but i didnt find it.

the rookie used the term "detective sargeant" for Ryan Caradine when Angela got promoted to a detective.
as far as i understood, there is no such thing as "detective sargeant" in the LAPD.
he was adressed as a "detective sargeant" and also "sargeant"/"sarge" by the detectives.

my question is: what rank is Ryan Caradine?
i was searching the rookie wiki (fandom), some posts said he was a detective II, some said he was a sargeant (and "division supervising officer")

EDIT: added "(fandom)" so someone doesnt mistake the fandom site wiki and the wiki on reddit

season 9 pilot idea

okay so i was just thinking and a brief idea popped into my head and i wanted to tell it to someone so im writing here (if you want to talk about anything rookie related feel free to dm me)

okay keep in mind these are only small ideas that just popped into my mind, not fully fleshed out scenarios.

lucy and tim:
so im thinking they could be locked like in a ship, maybe a full floor dedicated for them. they wake up on the opposite sides of the room with their hands tied with a zip tie. then they wake up at the same time. they try to get to eachother but theyre tired and weak because of the drug that those guys injected in them in 8x18 and one of them maybe falls over and blah blah blah and they get to eachother and start to hug and lucy starts to cry and get flashbacks of 2x11 and they just hug eachother tight for a moment and tim has realy teary eyes and cries a single tear

back at the mid-wilshire

they could find out that theyre missing simmilarly to when lucy got kidnapped for the first time, angela asks nolan was tim in the changing room to ask him how the proposal went etc etc and then they find out nobody has seen them since angela was giving tim the ring and they could start searching for them but not issue an abduction since it wasnt 24 hourse after the kidnapping.

later at mid-wishire

we could get nyla stressing out HARD because she and lucy have a unique "UC bond" (and whatever nyla said in 8x09 when she told lucy to tell her who will she pair her up with) and angela stressing about her "man of honour" too.

chenford - later in the episode
both of them are tired, they were trying to escape for the last hour(?) and then they get close to something (maybe going to the upper floor of the boat or close to the top part, whatever)

then they see a guard behind them then they start running and the guard calls more guards for help while running towards them. then they are being chased by guards and tim slows down a bit to turn around to see are they getting closer then they shoot him and lucy just turns around in shock what was the gunshot and running inbalanced (wobbling) to tim and maybe slipping along the way, not to surrender herself but to help him survive WHILE still tied

NOTE: i know they would untie eachother... but maybe there was a guard in there (the room) or something... it just feels more tense to watch lol
