Hi everyone,

My partner and I are considering a 10-day trip to the Maldives from Oct 20-30 and are looking at local islands rather than resorts.

At the moment, Dhigurah and Fulhadhoo are at the top of our list. We mainly want to enjoy beautiful beaches, snorkeling, swimming, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Would it make sense to split the trip 5 nights / 5 nights between two islands, or would you stay on one island for longer?

Also, how is the weather usually in late October? We're fine with occasional rain, but would you avoid the Maldives altogether at that time of year?

If you had 10 days on local islands, which island(s) would you choose and why?
