That's it. I'm done.

I have been a teacher for nearly 25 years and I'm finally being forced to walk away.

It was always my dream to be a teacher, to help kids attain a solid education. I based a lot of my instruction around literacy and improving reading. It's what I've always wanted to do.

Parents loved the improvements they saw in their kids - it was rewarding.

Until.....

A new TA started who said I put my hand down a student's shirt. I didn't. I put my hand on the student's neck in a lunchroom filled with other students and teachers. Now, I'm suspended and the state is investigating. I have to retain a lawyer to protect myself and my license.

Education has been going downhill, but I didn't want to quit. Now the choice has been made for me. I'm out and it breaks my heart.
