Bought this General John “Black Jack” Pershing antique piggy bank from 1918 at an antique store in Grass Valley, California in 2024. He was the head of the American Expeditionary Force in World War I. It was originally painted when made in World War I but the painted has chipped and faded away after more than 100 years. Nonetheless, you can still make out his face.
Got a first edition, first printing of one of my favorite books, “Deliverance” by James Dickey (1970). It’s in pristine condition.
Bought a signed copy of George W. Bush’s 2010 presidential memoir “Decision Points” at the Recycle Bookstore in San Jose, California for 35 dollars. I now own the signature of a US president even though I don’t like him as a president.
