Modern interpretations of eclipses in the ancient world make us believe they were viewed as omens of good and evil, portents of war and peace, and even interventions of a deity. Too often though we are quick to exclude the reality that these events were studied in a fashion we usually only credit to after the Scientific Revolution.
Effective study of the heavens has always been meticulous in time and detail, no matter the culture that conducted it.
The New Horizons mission will soon surpass 7500 days in space. What future missions will explore the Kuiper Belt- or will they be still for 20 further years?
