Correct chinese language

Correct chinese language

Hey all,

I’m Dutch but my great grandfather was Chinese from Guangdong, from my mother’s side. I would love to get a tattoo in Chinese characters but since I don’t speak any Chinese I was wondering if you could help me with the correct writing and reading.

I did some research and apparently tradiontal chinese characters can be read by mandarin or cantonese but have difference pronunciation (I might be wrong). I lean more towards Cantonese since my great grandfather was from that area. Correct me if I’m mistaken. I’d love to have a tattoo saying something like “my beloved family”. But it’s might be hard to directly translate this into correct chinese.

I really like these two as well on the picture but I need to know if this is 100% correct writing.

Lastly, I also like year of birth, such as 1990 or 2026. What would be the correct spelling for that?

Thank you very much!
