Armour Thyroid Experiences

Hello everyone! New to this community :)

I was on levothyroxine for about 1.5-2 months back in 2024 to treat my hypothyroidism, and I was completely miserable. I had horrible mood swings, I couldn’t sleep, parts of skin on my face were peeling off to reveal a rash, my hair was falling out in clumps, I was suicidal; the whole works. I told my doctor about my concerns and they said this was normal, keep taking the medication. After a lot of back and forth, I eventually got off of levothyroxine and my symptoms went away almost instantly. The same doctor also told me there were no other medications to treat me. Levo or nothing.

Fast forward to today, and I saw a different doctor who is prescribing me Armour Thyroid after I emphasized to her that I cannot take levo again for my own sanity. Thankfully, she listened! I start taking AT in a few days!

To anyone who has taken it, what was your experience? Do you have any tips on managing side effects, if you have had any? If you did have side effects, did they go away?

Any information would be immensely helpful! Thanks so much!! <3

Hello, everyone! This is going to be a bit long, and for that, I apologize in advance, but I’m incredibly frustrated with the situation that’s transpiring right now.

Full transparency, this is my first proofreading/translation job. I did not study to become a translator, nor was this even on my radar as a potential career; my email was passed along by my friend who works with ZOO full-time when she found out that they were hiring freelancers. I was trained in late January, and have been working anywhere from 1-5 times a week since.

I’ve been enjoying my work thus far. My project managers are all incredibly kind, and have actively been in my corner trying to help me with this situation. I have nothing but glowing things to say about them.

Well, what’s the problem? I still haven’t gotten paid, and it seems as though there is no timeline for when I will be paid.

I submitted my first invoice in the middle of March. The 45-day mark that we need to allow for processing has passed. We are about to enter day 51, which isn’t that far off. I messaged Finance directly with a list of every invoice that was 45 days or older and asked them when I could expect the next payment run. I received no concrete answer. I mainly got a message saying “we understand your urgency, we’re very behind, but we will mark your invoices as priority.” It felt like a copy-paste answer, especially since I did not mention anything about the situation being urgent (though, it kind of is…), or even wrote the email with a stressful tone.

Thankfully, I told my PMs about this, and they are pursuing the issue further. They actually informed me that they reached out to Finance earlier in the week, but they seemed to have not seen (or cared) about it. It now just feels like a waiting game, and while I can usually be patient, I need to pay my student loans that are due in a few weeks. I was banking on the almost $2,000 USD that I had processing going towards that, but that is probably on me for putting all my eggs in this basket.

All of this is to say that I’m very, very frustrated. I’ve been doing quality work for going on four months now. I’ve never missed or needed an extension for a deadline, I’ve taken on more work when asked, and I’ve been diligent about communicating as soon as possible.

Is this happening to anyone else currently? Does it improve ever? Is there anyone more specific I can reach out to? Do I have to just keep pestering until I get my payment? I would hate if it came to that, but at this point, I’ll try anything.

If you’ve made it through this word salad, thank you so, so much. Any insight, tips, or even support is immensely appreciated! :)
