SoCal's "Impossible Railroad" from the perspective of a custom railcart. Truly mesmerizing.
I’m tired of hearing people blame the economy for the recent spike in child marriage. We keep bragging about our GDP growth and our status as a "rising star" for South Asian development, but these new stats prove that our social progress is actually sliding backward. How else do we explain a 10% jump in just three years?
To me, this isn't just about money; it’s a massive failure of our local culture and community protection. We’ve prioritized the Bangladesh economy over the basic women's rights of our daughters. Our laws have basically become suggestions, and we’re masquerading as a modern nation while nearly half of our girls are married off before finishing school. It’s time we stopped the "economic struggle" cop-out and admitted that we are failing the next generation.
I was just reading that our remittance inflows hit $27 billion this month, and honestly, it’s such a relief to see some stability after the chaos of the last year. With the new government meeting the World Bank chief and getting a promise for "all-out support" on our digital infrastructure, I’m cautiously optimistic that we might finally see some relief at the grocery store soon. I really hope our new Finance Minister handles this momentum better than the last few guys so we can actually feel the benefit in our daily lives.
Just saw recent updates from Prothom Alo and honestly what is going on? Opposition walks out, government pushes laws anyway and accusations keep flying from both sides. At this point, is parliament even functioning as a real democratic institution or just a place where decisions get forced through no matter what?
Lets be real if major political groups are boycotting while laws are still being passed how is that supposed to represent the people? I am not here to support any side but this doesnt look healthy at all. Things are actually getting worse behind the scenes!!
I don’t understand how more than 100 children can die from measles in 2026.
This is not some unknown disease. Vaccines exist. Basic awareness should exist too.
So what is going wrong?
At some point, this stops feeling like bad luck to me. It starts to feel like something is clearly not working.
I don’t know how people can just see this and move on.
People keep blaming the system for poor outcomes, but the reality is not that simple.
Memorizing answers, avoiding real understanding, and doing the bare minimum is still very common. Even when resources are available, many students choose the easiest path just to pass exams.
At the same time, the system itself rewards this behavior, so it keeps repeating.
Are students victims of the system, or active participants in keeping it the same?
There is something strange about Bangladesh. It can be very frustrating, but also very comforting at the same time.
People complain about many things, but once they leave, they start missing small details they never cared about before.
In Bangladesh, people often get used to problems instead of fixing them.
Over time, things that should not be acceptable slowly become part of daily life. Traffic, delays, poor systems. It just becomes routine.
After a while, it does not even feel like a problem anymore.
Almost everyone I know is either planning to go abroad or already trying. Some say it’s for better education, some say jobs, some just want a different life.
But is it really that bad to stay? Or is this just what everyone does now?
If you had a good opportunity in Bangladesh, would you still leave?
