How do non-dehydrated people sleep?
I 28F decided in my infinite wisdom that I should probably start drinking more water. Previously, I'd have a few cups of coffee in the morning and some water if I did a workout with the occassional cup of tea in the evening. This year I set a goal to drink at least one full bottle of water a day which has been a struggle as is. I don't enjoy the taste of water unless I'm thirsty or it's ice cold so I've opted for some sugar-free flavoured alternatives. Now, here's the problem. Since I started drinking more fluids, I have to pee at least once, in the middle of the night EVERY night. It doesn't matter if I go right before getting into bed, without fail at some point the urge comes over me and I have to stumble my way to the bathroom. I used to fall asleep and sleep soundly through the night until my alarm in the morning and now I have yet to sleep through a full night without the need to empty my bladder. My boyfriend who drinks what I'd consider probably a healthy amount of water gets up multiple times during the night to urinate as well so I suspect it may only get worse the more water I drink. So I ask, how does one drink an appropriate amount of water and still manage to get a good nights sleep?
