Upgrade day
I started off last year with a cheap Smittybuilt gen 2 Facebook find to see if a rtt was for me…today was upgrade day! Went with an OVS Everest and so far I couldn’t be happier. It checked off almost all the boxes of what I wanted…it’s heavier than I intended and doesn’t have power ran into the tent but neither one of those were deal killers for me. The size is perfect for my bed rack height and doesn’t hang back too far off the back. I wanted all aluminum shell and I wanted the X style hinge system so the top doesn’t just hinge back but raises straight up as it’s opened. This will allow me to run a 270 degree awning with the half height rack. The rack on top will allow me to easily mount solar for the in bed battery setup. Headed out tomorrow for its maiden voyage.
