I got a really long comment
And the commenter put sooo much more thought into the future of my WIP than I did. At least it feels like it. I had a plan for the next few chapters, how they were supposed to go, who would appear and who wouldn't appear and then that comment came. The commenter (who I appreciate very much btw) alluded to certain characters showing up that I purposely excluded, they alluded to certain plot points I never intended to write and now I feel like I am wasting the potential the fic might have.
I don't know how to explain it but ever since I've read that comment I have the idea that I might need to rework some stuff. It feels like I might let that commenter down if I continue to write it like I planned. But I honestly don't want to add the characters they mentioned, at least not currently. And I had plans for the dynamics between certain characters as well, but like I said, the comment made me feel a little insecure about all of my plans.
I don't even know why I feel like that. The commenter was really nice, praised my writing and everything, but the ideas and the things they were excited for just seemed so much more thought out than my own idea.
How would you deal with that? Would you try to incorporate some of their ideas into your work or would you just continue like you planned? I am a bit at a loss for what to do honestly.
