My band teacher being a bum

So, I watched a few videos on the bassoon, thought it looked like a cool instrument, so I started to play it. Started to enjoy it, but then I grew tired of playing it, I started searching for other instruments that I would actually enjoy, and I found the Baritone Saxophone. It's the perfect instrument for me because I love the saxophone, but I prefer a bass sound. Come end of the year, around the time we discuss summer music, I discussed playing the bari sax for summer music, but then they talked to me, said that they want me too keep playing bassoon and said that if I switch, I won't get good at any instrument, which is kind of false because I'm the only one in my class playing bassoon (usually considered the hardest instrument in my band, and also tehre are definitely other people wanting to switch), while everyone else is playing easy instruments like the clarinet and the trumpet. And the majority of the class doesn't even know their entire chromatic scale, while I know. As a hobby, I play two other instruments perfectly fine, and most other kids play one. And they still say that Bari sax is too hard for me. They said I have to play alto before I try bari to get used to it, which is fine, but still, I could definitely play Bari.

I'm never touching a bassoon again in my life. (except a Contrabassoon, those frickers are cool)
