I wanted to thank everyone that commented on my original post ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Cakes/s/Bslp8hRxcy ) inquiring about whether or not the cake mix and can of soda actually worked.

The overwhelming majority said YES and shared times they did it. So I went ahead and prepared 20 kits for donation that were dropped of this morning!

The location I picked for drop off was from another TikTok video I watched of the centre making a request for reusable bag donations. So along with the 20 cake kits, I dropped over 150 paper bags from grocery deliveries and 25 reusable bags. (Those bags add up so darn quick! But glad I found somewhere that can use them.)

Someone on TikTok kept popping up on my FYP a few times the past couple days, with their version of a birthday box donation for a food bank. I think this is an awesome idea and would like to do it. But I’m wondering if it actually works AND tastes good. I’ve seen a number of mixed reviews, but not sure which to believe. (If it does work, which pairings are the better ones? Cake Mix : Soda : Frosting. I included pics of what is available near me.)
