My current routine doesn't include ceramides and enough niacinamide, and I feel that may be a glaring omission.
My current moisturiser is the cosrx snail mucin, which I do like, but I think that the moisturiser may be the best place to insert those ingredients into my routine.
I have had trouble before with very rich moisturisers, as I have oily skin (particularly on my forehead), and have found that they can leave a film on my skin, exacerbate the shine, and prevent makeup from behaving properly.
I'm a big fan of moisturisers that I don't feel on the surface of my skin at all within about half an hour of application.
I'm in my late 30s, but young looking, with no major wrinkles, and just a very few fine lines. My issues are some skin texture and uneven skin tone, with some uneven pigmentation on my cheekbones from a previous hormone issue.
With the exception of my forehead, my skin gets very dry without the hyaluronic acid serum, which is why I don't want to switch it out for a niacinamide serum.
My routine is as follows:
Morning
-Glycolic acid cleanser (though I have just bought a new ceramide and niacinamide face wash, but unsure if something that I'm rinsing off is adequate application)
-swipe of cosrx aha/bha toner
-spray water
-hyaluronic acid serum (either Nivea or L'Oréal, cost depending)
-spray water again
-loreal revitalift eye cream
-cosrx snail mucin moisturizer
-spf when required, currently Garnier super UV with hyaluronic acid. My foundation is also spf50
Night
-cleanser
-sometimes double cleanse with micellar water if needed
-freederm 4% nicotinamide gel when the hyperpigmentation is darker (it fluctuates)
-loreal revitalift retinol serum
-boots retinol eye cream
-cosrx 6 peptide booster
-cosrx snail mucin essence
-vaseline brand advanced repair body lotion (call me crazy, but I use this on my hands every night, and applied the excess to my face one night when I'd run out of the other moisturiser...haven't looked back)
Thanks in advance for any input.
