Hi, I’ll have a one-night transit in Athens coming back from the islands. My flight is very early in the morning and it seems like the metro won’t be running at that hour, so my only option is taking a taxi.
That’s why I decided to stay in Artemida since it’s much closer to the airport than Athens city center. The hotel told me they can arrange transportation, and the prices are:
- Artemida → Airport (around 8 min drive): 30€
- Athens city center → Airport (50+ min drive): 55€
I’m trying to understand how an 8-minute drive can cost 30€, while a 50+ minute drive is only 55€.
I mainly chose Artemida because I thought staying close to the airport would save a lot on transportation but seems like that's really not the case. Are these prices normal? Is the Artemida transfer overpriced because it’s arranged through the hotel? Any taxi apps that I can use?
