What exactly is Fern?
So we see fern still exists in the undergrowth in Fionna and cake after his consciousness was transferred there after his “death” but my question is what consciousness exactly was that? In adventure time we know the main reason fern was never really able to be “Finn” not only bc he was grass but because he was literally a fusion between the grass demon and the paradox Finn with the grass demon having a majority of the influence, at the end of adventure time after the grass demon was killed by both of the Finn’s we see sword Finn basically return to being “just Finn” again and whatever was left of the grass bod fade away too. Mainly wanna hear you guy’s opinion since I don’t see anyone talking about it, in my opinion I think the “fern” in fionna and cake is just the essence that remained of the fusion that made the original fern that ended up in the undergrowth after their death kind of like how in steven universe Garnet was a seperate person entirely from ruby and sapphire. My main reason for that theory is in distant lands together again if you pay close attention in dead world 1 you can actually see the grass demon really is dead and got sent there(deserved), as for what happened to the finn in the finn sword he probably moved on to a different dead world or is still in the new sword that’s just a theory tho.
