Had a dream about the Second Coming
Hello, all.
I was raised Catholic. Though I still attend church with my family, and consider myself a Christian, I don't actively read the Bible or engage in the church activities. I just try to follow the two major teachings of Jesus, as I understand them: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart; love your neighbor as yourself."
I had this dream while I took a short nap in the morning. Couldn't have taken more than 30 minutes.
In my dream, I was outside on the street. It was raining heavily and there was thunder. I remember thinking, “Please, dear God, protect me,” because I was afraid of being struck by lightning. I’m really afraid of that in real life.
I managed to make it home safely. I walked through a wooden fence and closed the front door. In the dream, my house was very simple, made entirely of wood. After going inside, I remember lying down on my bed and taking a nap, in the exact same way I did that morning in real life.
Suddenly, there was an extremely loud boom. Loud enough to burst the eardrums of any living being. The sound wave was so intense that it distorted the air around me, as if breaking the laws of physics, space, and time. Then I began to hear a dramatic choral arrangement in the distance, which grew louder and louder. I didn’t understand everything, but the words that sounded clearest to me were: “ONLY THE TWO OF US LIVE IN THE CITY OF THE SUN.”
While all this was happening, I continued to sleep peacefully within the dream. Yet I was aware of everything going on around me. I smiled with joy in my sleep and said to someone, “Yay, the day has come!” a silly, childlike joy, just the way I normally act. That someone - I believe it was God - heard what I said and replied, “Yes, [My Name], the day has come.” The voice was affectionate and fatherly.
And then I woke up from that dream.
I didn’t wake up in a cold sweat, frightened, or having any feelings of unease. But my heart was racing excitedly from the experience. It was like the exciting, exhilarating feeling of riding a roller coaster.
Does any of this make sense, from the perspective of the Scriptures?
I really like listening to the Word in the church, but since I haven't read the Bible thoroughly, I don't have much knowledge in that regard. I mostly hold the essence to heart. Thank you all for the attention.
