New SG Day - another Pelham!
Another new SG owner at least partially inspired be seeing all of the GC Pelham SG purchases here.
Long story short - perfect confluence of events of selling a guitar for more than I expected, then getting a legitimately crazy price on this one, which lead to it being a complete no-brainer.
I’d been wanting to get a humbucker-equipped Gibson for the last year or two, but was struggling between LP and SG. I prefer the ergonomics of the LP, but the weight, and the fact that I was going to want to add a Bigsby made the SG with Maestro a much more compelling fit.
Kind of crazy how hard this color is to photograph actually - way lighter / cooler tone it is compared to here.
I’m absolutely loving this guitar - will likely take it to Real Guitars here in SF for a setup at some point to help a bit with the tuning stability a bit - D and G are a bit dicey with the Maestro still. Feel like I can live with it for now.
Happy to have rejoined the Gibson club, and to have joined the SG club!
