Can I/Should I switch branches?

I was planning on joining the marines, they reached out to me first and they had a few good reasons to join at the time. I got an 88 on my Asvab, and picked out my three MOS, but there was one MOS that I wanted in particular (Metrology and Oceanography), while I know an MOS isn't guaranteed, they told me I was basically guaranteed to get it if I meet my weight requirements in time. After I got done with MEPs I asked them what MOS I got, and after three weeks of dodging the question they had me sign the paperwork for a different MOS (Intelligence and Communications.) in a couple of days I am going back to MEPs to confirm I meet the weight requirements, then I am getting shipped out to boot camp. People have been telling me that I should talk to the air force instead of the Marines because that more aligns with the MOS that I wanted (I am sure they call it something else, but I don't know what.) But I have always just shrugged it off assuming I am going to get the MOS I wanted anyways so it didn't matter which branch I went through. If I try to delay my ship out date I will lose my 5k sign on bonus which was the only reason why I agreed to go to boot camp sooner than later. I have yet to reach out to the air force, but should I try just to see if they have a MOS or whatever the equivalent is available and if I should strive to get it, or should I just stick to the hand that I was dealt and deal with it. The main reason I wanted to join the Military in the first place was to get a job in Metrology, and while I can apply to college afterwards to get a degree in it, my recruiter told me if I get that MOS that I can just use my experience in the Marines to get a civilian job afterwards and skip college entirely. I understand that no MOS is guaranteed, and that I should have been OK with not getting the MOS I wanted, but that MOS was the only reason I was joining the Marines.
