Understanding CM post Nexplanon-removal

Hi there!

I recently removed my Nexplanon as I’ve had tons of negative side effects and I just didn’t want to deal anymore. Eventually I will want kids so I’m also giving my body plenty of time to readjust my hormones, but currently I am TTA so we are consistently using protection, but I’d generally want the added protection of not having sex at all while I’m fertile.

I’m about 1.5 months post removal so I’m still in the learning phase of tracking my cycle and monitoring about BBT, LH and CM.

I’m adding Lh tracking to the mix because my CM is truly confusing me!

Has anyone post birth control had trouble tracking CM? I find generally I don’t have a lot at all, so when I wipe I can barely tell what kind/consistency it is. Additionally, it feels like I get mixed CM.

For example, four days ago on Day 6-7 of my cycle I had a bit of dry/sticky globs of CM. Day 8 I had none, day 9 I had a bit of cloudy damp, and yesterday I had VERY LITTLE clear but still dry CM that wouldn’t stretch very far. So his morning I had a ton of clear CM, but like two hours later is was cloud/white again.

I did my first LH strip yesterday and it came back Low…

Did anyone feel they had very mixed CM after BC removal? I have no idea what’s real, if I’m about to ovulate or not…I had very similar issues last month (though that cycle was 39 days long…so idk)

Currently cycle and last cycle charts attached for reference.

Any advice is welcome 🥹

Insomnia worsened post-removal?

Hi there!

Coming to see if anyone who suffered insomnia or general trouble sleeping after getting nexplanon noticed it get worse post removal?

I’m only 2 weeks post removal (implanted in 2023, had lots of side effects, amongst them the most annoying was how light of a sleeper I became, issues falling asleep or staying asleep)

I’ve noticed since removal that magnesium is no longer helping me fall back asleep after waking up. I’ve even opted to take melatonin which worked one night last week but kept me up ALL night last night.

Mostly now I also wake up between 3-5am and struggle to fall back asleep.

Did anyone have this issue? I know hormones are now all over the place probably but curious if shipments had experience with this but it eventually
Got better?

I am so crabby when I don’t sleep well so I’m really not looking forward to this being a prolonged issue 😵‍💫😵‍💫

New user post-Nexplanon removal

Hi there! I recently started using a Tempdrop (june 27), a week before I removed my Nexplanon implant on July 3 (the site said it was fine to start early so that it starts leaning your habits)

I’m curious if anyone has also been down this path? How long did it take you to start charting for real?

I was on period just before removal, and then it restarted right after removal (hence the 12 day period…)so it’s already hard to tell what my timeline will be 😅

Plan is not to conceive anytime soon, I removed my Nexplanon due to ongoing side effects, so i recognize extra protection will be needed consistently while my cycle gets back to normal!

Any advice from any ex-Nexplanon users at how to not go crazy in the beginning of this journey is appreciated!
