Tried a 2021 Taylor 912ce builders at a local shop and felt underwhelmed. What model made you go wow?

I have owned a 214ce and a gs mini for nearly 8 years and after graduating, I am in the market for a high end guitar. Saw that there was a 2021 912ce builders near me for $4.5K.

After trying it, I felt quite underwhelmed. The treble was dull, no bass at all, maybe it was old strings? I told the shop owner I didn’t love it and he gave me a crazed look like I was an idiot with bad ears.

Am I crazy to be unable to tell the supposedly $4-5k difference between this 912ce and my 214ce? What Taylor model is worth the bang for the buck?

And yes I understand that they are different bodies.

Does this 000-28 even with new elixirs sound dead?

I got this 2025 000-28 a few weeks ago. Always been a Taylor guy but I can’t tell if I have bad ears or this 000-28 sounds a bit dead?

Should I go get it professionally set up? Idk contemplating a return for maybe a OM-28 or OMJM

How concerned about this should I be? I keep my living room around 45-55% humidity on a guitar stand.

Never had any other cracks on my other guitars like this.
