how do you still have a job?

It might sound a little harsh but I generally don't know how she still has a job there. We have an associate in opd that just screws the team over to get what she wants and to be honest she's not really liked at all. Now don't get me wrong I try to be friendly with everyone even if I don't like them because we work together and we don't need to have any beef we just gotta tolerate each other. Now her? I refuse to have anything to do with her. And today about yelled her. I didn't don't worry.

So we have two new hires in opd. One's more extroverted and the other is very shy. She was closing with them and one new hire went to go do go backs so she walks up to the shy one and drops the equipment in his hands and left, didn't explain what to do or how to use them or that she was going to break. So I go to lunch and this poor guy walks up to me and tells me that he thinks he was abandoned and all alone back there and asked how to use the equipment. So you know I took the one minute she couldn't to explain how to use the radio and what to say when someone calls. Real easy and simple. The new hires are really cool and sweet and I have no problem helping them out. However it frustrates me a lot that she was there and didn't do it so he had to go to someone from a different section for help because it was inconvenient for her to take 1 minute to explain the equipment and a few seconds to tell him she was going to break. He's new he doesn't know any better. She is not. He had no clue where anyone went and thought he was going to be alone for the rest of the night.

Maybe I'm overreacting here but I feel like it was messed up for her to just drop everything and leave him confused, scared and panicked. I also feel it's a little messed up that he has to go to a fashion associate when there's an opd associate that has been there for a while. She has a habit of dropping everything on everyone else. I texted some other opd closers and they agreed that it was messed up but hey maybe that's just us. Don't get me wrong I'm glad he knows he can come to me for help but still. That was messed up.

If you have new associates please don't just drop everything on them an leave without a word. There still learning. Make sure they know how to use/ do what is given to them.

Take. care. of. your. associats!

I'm not a TL in any shape form or way om just an associate. I used to be opd and whenever there was a customer asking for a teamlead they gave it to me because ours was gone. The coach was absolutely amazing. But the teamlead often left opd to fend for themselves and definitely had favorites, as I've previously stated I'm just an Acossite but whenever a problem accoured morning, mid day and closing shifts would always come to me. The opd TL came back recently and decided to make everything so much more complicated to where closers where in tears. I'm no longer in opd but even now they still come running to me. New hires come to me instead of the TL. I walked past one night and saw one of the closers almost in tears so I asked what was wrong and they explained about how complicated the TL made writing to board. So after explaining the new process to me together we figured it out and got the board done. Turns out it was barley explained and just dropped on closers to now take them 45 minutes to do it how the TL wants. After figuring it out and explaining it out a little differently it takes less time for them. And yes they asked the TL questions. I've had opd associates come to me and beg for me to come back to opd. People have been injured on the job bad and the TL tells them there fine and to get back to work. Please just take care of your team. I love the opd crew and will always help where I can but to see people almost cry because I'm not back, there's an issue.
