New York on a budget - 3/4 night stay?

I’ve always wanted to go to New York. Just a bucket list thing I guess! 🥹
Ok,I’m 52, lone traveller, female.
Would be flying from Dublin.
I’m not bothered about travelling alone… only child so that doesn’t phase me ( BUT…. I am bothered the most about safely getting there, I guess!)
Just would like some recommendations about accommodation that’s safe and secure - a safe place, comfy bed and a daycent shower! 🤣
Not keen on a hostel though.
Don’t drive so will have to rely on public transport.
Also, do you recommend Aer Lingus or any other other airline?
I would honestly love any feedback on this.
Have you been there? How did you find it overall? Any tips for getting value on flights/hotel?
Is 3 nights enough? I don’t mind leaving Ireland at crazy o clock to be there in the morning.
If anyone reads this, thank you so much!

Edit: Should’ve included what cost anyone has done this for.

Hi,

If you’ve your phone on airplane mode, can you still pay for onboard purchases? A work colleague says they don’t accept Revolut.

I’ve my Revolut card registered in my Apple wallet, so I’m just curious if it’ll work or if my work colleague is right and it won’t?
