Indian Passport + US Visa: Flying Standby (Airline Staff) to Panama? What are the risks?
Hey everyone,
I am an Indian national and airline employee planning to travel to Panama. I intend to enter visa-free using the waiver for valid, multiple-entry US B1/B2 visa holders.
However, because I am airline staff, I will be flying on a non-revenue standby ticket (SBY/ZED).
Knowing how strictly Panama enforces its immigration rules, I’m concerned about the potential problems I might face at the port of entry—specifically regarding the mandatory onward/return ticket rule.
My questions for fellow airline staff or anyone familiar with PTY immigration:
1 In your experience, do Panama immigration officers generally accept a standby ticket listing if you present a valid Airline Crew ID to prove you are actual industry staff?
2 Are origin gate agents highly prone to denying boarding to Indian passport holders if they see a standby ticket instead of a confirmed PNR out of Panama?
