Clasped Weft Baby Blanket Forest

(This may take some imagination and 'out of the box' thinking.)

I have a friend with a 'forest theme' for their nursery.

I have purchased 5 colors of 3/2 cotton that match their color scheme.

Darker green.
Lighter Green.
Brownish/Burnt Sienna.
Wedgewood blue.
Creme/light yellow.

I could do a plaid or stripes with a solid weft, of course, But...

What if I used clasped weft to 'paint' trees into the blanket?

Warp could be split between "Grass" and "Sky."

And then the Brown and Dark Green would clasp, forming the trunk and some leaves.

And I could clasp Dark green and light green for grass and Leaves.
Then Light green and blue for grass and sky...

I've never done clasped weft in a baby blanket, but have done it elsewhere and love it.
(Also: My babies have fur so I'm not a good judge of what is practical for babies.)

For those who are clasped-weft experts and also baby-experts-- is a 3 way clasp going to wear ok with washing?

Example, if I wanted to have grass, sky, AND leaves on the same pick-- that would be a 3 color pick. Is that going to wash and survive?

**I did a little 'visual' using Excel but cannot get a screenshot of it to share here w/o an error message. :-/ Sorry.

Calendula ordered from Growers Exchange and planted 2 weeks ago. She appears otherwise healthy!

Today I noticed these buds coming from the side of the primary flower. 3 in total.

I think it's fasciation but would like other opinions.

A 2nd flower on the same plant but different stalk is behaving normally so far.

If it is fasciation, how do I know if it's bacterial versus genetic?

Do I prune this odd flower as a preventative and see what happens with the second flower?

I do like to harvest my flowers to be used in topical herbals so I prefer not to throw away a blossom just cuz she's funny looking. A genetic malfunction won't bother me but a bacterial one is not one I'd like to keep.
