Scorecard says Kazuma Stafford took 4 wickets. The link reads https://www.cricinfo.com/cricketers/kazuma-kato-stafford-1399993 Paints a picture where a guy who just captained men's u-19 team in Jan 2026 is somehow playing in wncl in September. Checked the cricket Aus page. It's actually Ayaka Kato Stafford. https://www.cricket.com.au/matches/CA:40763/nsw-women-queensland-fire-wncl-2026-27?tab=scorecard Don't know if the two are related. But the cricinfo gave me a nice shock. Given the recent controversy of trans women being allowed by CA, this was something confusing.

This is about Women CPL. GAW needed 159 to win. If chased in 14.5 overs, they qualify straight to finals. Else, if they make at least 70, they qualify for play off ( 2nd vs 3rd) .

So they were 46 in 5 overs. 113 needed in about 10 ov. Lost their first wicket, 2nd ball of 6th over. They had big hitters, De Klerk, Tryon. Yet they sent in Erin Burns, and just didn't want to even attempt to qualify straight to finals. Even Campbell or Grimmond could have been better options. Brits at the other end didn't show needed aggression either. Clearly, they thought there's no point going for the chase in 14.5 ov. That's just sad and disappointing. Cmon! They couldn't fear getting 9 outs for 23 runs, bundling out for 69.

They ended up winning the game. But nothing changed. They have to win another match (playoff) to reach finals, against the same team. Maybe it was all for a morale boost. Is the morale boost worth it ?

Sad to watch such not so smart Cricket. Hope no outside influence, bookies etc.

Md kounain Quraishi. How did he get selected for East Zone in Duleep Trophy semifinal? This is his first first class match. He has a ridiculous list A career. So East zone has multiple states, couldn't they find one better bowlers from any state who has played ranji, has a decent career stats. Just trying to understand. What am I missing?

ICC WTC playing conditions state :

The current over rate of the fielding team (+/- overs compared to the minimum rate required), shall be

advised by the third umpire every 30 minutes as a minimum, and shall be displayed on a scoreboard or replay screen at regular intervals.

Cricinfo gives WBBL or Hundred stats but not all.
