Mild chronic gastritis…huh??

So I had my first EDG for suspected EOE and GERD…biopsy’s came back and I did have a hernia and EOE (yay me) but one thing I saw that was not mentioned was “mild chronic gastritis”

I have maybe 2 glasses of wine on the weekend, no NSAIDs, negative H pyloria. What could it be causing it? Not GERD right the stomach is a safe space for acid I thought?

I have had a fuck load of mental and psychological stress the past few years…feel like that’s my only variable it could be??

Any thoughts are much appreciated 🙏🏻

Need advice from this wise group of individuals

I just got my biopsies and diagnosed EOE

Mid esophagus is a level 5 (no mucosal changes)
Distal is 35 (mucosal changes of EOE)

I have a hiatal hernia and have had GERD forever. I am wondering if a level of 35 could be from GERD just cooking my lower esophagus??

The nurse orders to me was to start 40mg PPI and eliminate dairy and gluten and see how I feel didn’t even offer rescope after just to go off symptoms.

How will I ever know if it was the PPI helping or the diet helping if I do both at the same time?? Seems to go against everything that Iv learned here the past few weeks??

Any advice would be amazing today is a shit day getting the final stamp of EOE. Appreciate you all

Your emotional journey

So for 5 years I have been chasing this and my list of doctors and specialist include physical therapy, cardiologist, ENTs, gastroenterologist, mental health therapist, endless GP visits.

It wasn’t untill Monday I discovered I had EOE. A piece of me wants to rejoice and a piece of me wants to curl up in a ball and cry.

The food elimination and pharmaceuticals that are ahead of me are causing massive anxiety. But a do feel validation that I knew something was wrong with me on the inside and all the doctors said it’s anxiety and maybe reflux move on with your life.

My question to you all who are on the other side of this. Are you happy now? Living a good quality of life?? The past 5 years have beatin me down

Removing triggers - what am I looking for

Everyone talks about removing trigger foods…my recently diagnosed EOE was kind of by error I was going in for EDG for GERD symptoms Iv never had an impaction and don’t really have swallowing issues…maybe sometimes things move down slower but from what I’m learning that was weeks and months and years of damage to get me to that point it’s not some immediate reaction.

When you all try to figure out triggers what are you looking for…because I know it’s not an immediate allergic reaction. Just an increase in heartburn?

I feel overwhelmed as fuck as to how to start this elimination diet. Already thin person and losing even 10 pounds would probably start freaking people out.

This feels like a mountain to climb. Gastro diagnosed on visual rings and said it’s clsssic. Don’t have biopsies back yet but he said he’s pretty damn sure it’s EOE

Hello all, Iv had chest pain for years and chased it with cardiology, physical therapy, etc.

I’m 37 year old male with reflux, palpitations, SOB, and a lot of environmental allergies. GI suspects EOE and getting a EGD in a few weeks for biopsy.

Can anybody here anecdotally say their chest pain can be palpated on the OUTSIDE of their chest? Along the sternum and chest pec muscles always so tight and sore to the touch. When I move or stretch the pain is recreated. Iv never had food “stuck” but it can be uncomfortable at times with dryer foods.

Any personal insight would be incredible. At this point a diagnosis of EOE would be a relief as Iv been chasing all these weird symptoms for YEARS
