Graphic Designer looking to prepare myself for AI replacement
I (36F) have worked for a large tech company for 9 years. I worked my way up from part-time contractor to a Senior UX/UI Designer. Last year, we lost half our team to AI and I feel the walls closing in around me. Every meeting is about AI and how we need to use prompts to make it design for us. Gone are the days of me going heads down and creating something. They are tracking how much we use AI and want it involved into every step of our creative process. Our stakeholders go to AI instead of the design team currently so we are desperately trying to find ways to stay relevant. It's only a matter of time before we are let go.
I am mentally preparing for a career switch. I have grieved the career I thought I had and am ready to focus on a new chapter.
I am looking into remote work as I have a baby on the way and I have some disabilities that make it hard to be able to regularly go into the office. What career avenues do you recommend? I am willing to get certifications and training. It just needs to be a career that is safe from AI and I could do from home most of the time.
Thanks!
