What actually makes an AI companion feel real?

At this point I don’t even care that much about raw intelligence anymore. most AI companion apps are smart enough.The thing that separates them for me is personality.

I’ve tried stuff like LustC͏rushAI ,Rep͏lika, Can͏dyAI, Spic͏yChat, and a few others recently. Some of them look impressive at first, but after a while the replies start feeling weirdly polished and repetitive. Like every character is secretly the same bot wearing different clothes.

Curious what other people notice first when a chatbot starts feeling fake.

every a͏i girlfriend crea͏tor ive tried has the same problem: the custom͏izable character personalities you set up in the sheet dont carry into the images. face drifts, hair resets, different person every render.

built danielle on lovescape.ai three weeks ago. freckles, chain on the glasses, small scar above the left eyebrow. ran her through six outfits and environments in one session, no reference, no lora.

scar survived all six. freckles held in five. glasses chain in every indoor shot. candy drifted by render 3, nomi reset by image 2.

not perfect, beach shot has the classic hand thing, formal dinner warmed her skin tone. but for character creation into image identity, tightest set ive gotten.

all six sfw. curious if anyones getting this kind of hold locally.
