What to do when your body is not feeling an AO?

The obvious answer is to slow down but then I’m not tired enough for a WR.

I’ve been struggling with AOs lately - I have an autoimmune disease and my body is telling by me not to push too hard right now. I’ve been doing my all outs slightly above my push pace - should I switch to more endurance style and go to base during the WR or do others in the class get annoyed by this?

Bad real estate choices

Good Move: We bought our first house just before the market got hot and refinanced during COVID. We decided to turn this property into a rental and now have a very good about of equity in this property.

Bad Move: since we had such good luck on our first property we decided that it was a good idea to buy another more expensive property with the though being, a higher priced home (within our means) would gain equity more quickly. The market had historically done really well within our area. Well, this is where we were wrong. We went under contract for a new construction when mortgage rates were COVID low and housing prices were high. By the time we closed interest rates were in the upper 6’s. For about a year it seemed like housing prices continued to increase in our area but over the past year, comps in our neighborhood are selling for about 100k less that what we paid.

We are now kicking ourselves for buying this second home. We’d be so much closer to FI if we stayed in that first home and invested the money for the down payment and the extra $800/month in interest that we were not expecting to pay.

We do love the house and don’t have any plans to move for the next 15+ years but we also feel trapped.

I think it will be OK in the long run and our end goal will be to sell the rental when we can use that equity to pay off the mortgage on our current loan but man this hurts. Any perspective to offer here?

Will I stick out like a sore thumb if I wear a sparkly shirt?

Firsr time to Bottlerock

I was thinking of wearing a sparkly top with jeans to Backstreet Boys on Sunday. Is Bottlerock not a sparkly shirt type of festival. Am I better off with something more casual - maxi skirt and tank top?

Women in their 40’s

I’m having a bit of a mental struggle with getting older…

I started OTF at 38 after having two babies. It was rough - my all out was at 6 mph, was sore and exhausted after every class, I really struggled. Two years in I absolute love OTF. I feel like I continue to get stronger and continue to push myself.

I don’t feel like I’m slowing down anytime soon and hopefully 40 is just a number but honestly, I’m mentally struggling with this birthday. I want to at minimum maintain what I have if not continue to push myself over this next decade. I see some older women in my studio that I definitely admire, but wanted to hear from all of you. What did/does fitness look like in your 40’s for you?
