Hotel keeps cancelling reservation booked under Government rate & rebooking to “AAA” rate

As the title says. It is a chain hotel. Booked 2 nights this weekend at a famous beach town. Hotel modified booking to reflect higher price without our knowledge & consent. Called corporate and they were able to change the reservation to original price. Checked the reservation today (tonight is the check-in) and hotel has changed the reservation AGAIN to reflect the higher price without our knowledge or consent . Called corporate and they said to call the hotel itself and “there is nothing they can do”. I am afraid if I call the hotel now they will cancel my reservation and I’ll have to scramble last minute to find another hotel at extremely high rate.
I am considering just going there, say nothing. Come back and file charge back on the difference (have emails to prove that they keep changing the price). Complain to Attorney general’s office & CA Dept of Consumer Affairs.
